Stitch needs help!
Late last year, SAFE-West End Cat Rescue pulled a manx kitten from a local pound that was set to be euthanized. We named him Stitch, and he went into foster care. Stitch had one problem, though; he had a prolapsed rectum.
Rectum prolapses are common in young kittens, especially the manx breed (manxes are often missing the last vertebrae of their spine), and, normally, it is an easy fix. Stitch went in for a minor surgery in which his intestine was pushed back into him and a few stitches were used to keep it there. This worked for about a week, but when he went back in to have his stitches removed, his intestine was pushed back out again.
Stitch now needs a second surgery to have this problem fixed so that he can find his forever home! This time the veterinarians need to go in and staple his intestines to the side walls. It is a costly procedure and the quote given to us was around $500. If you could pitch in even a dollar it would help us greatly towards our goal! Thanks for your consideration, and Stitch thanks you too!
